Q. What is 'Web Hosting'?

A. Web hosting gives you the facility to publish your Web pages onto the Internet, and allow visitors to access your site from a domain name such as yourdomain.co.uk. We also provide email service, so you can accept email at your domain name and collect it from an email program such as Microsoft Outlook Express.

Q. What if I want to change my hosting package?

A. No problem! You'll have the opportunity to upgrade your plan at any time. All you pay is the difference in price between your existing and new plans.

Q. Can I have a .com name for FREE?

A. Certainly! You can choose either a .co.uk, .com, .net, .org or .org.uk for FREE!

Q. How about if I already have a domain name?

A. That's fine. If you've already registered your domain name with another company, we will arrange for it to be transferred over to our server.

If you registered your domain name with Webhosting Future previously, it will already be setup and ready to work with your Webspace.

Q. What's this Bandwidth about?

A. Bandwidth refers to the amount of information that travels to and from your Webspace each month. For instance, if a visitor was to view a Web page with a total file size of 100Kb, the bandwidth usage would be 100Kb.

Most sites will have plenty of bandwidth with the bundled amount, but you can always upgrade if your bandwidth levels grow. If you use more than your allocated bandwidth, additional bandwidth will be charged at just 2.5p per MB.

Q. Can I use Frontpage or Dreamweaver to design and upload my Web pages?

A. Yes, all of our hosting packages have Frontpage 2000 Extensions installed so you can utilise the full functionality of Frontpage. You can also use Dreamweaver to upload and manage your site.

Q. Do I need Perl/CGI facilities?

A. Perl/CGI allows you to run your own custom 'scripts' to do such things as send input from forms back to you by email, check your customer's credit card information, run online ordering systems and other advanced interactive features.

Q. How do I get my pages onto my Webspace?

A. You should use an 'FTP' program. There are many FTP programs available for free or by Shareware, and they can often by found on computer magazine covermount CD's. It's simply a process of clicking on the file on your computer that you wish to upload.

Q. What is a Form-to-Email Script?

A. You can set-up a form on your Website and have it emailed to any email address after it has been filled in by a visitor. Our Form-to-Email script makes this possible. You can also set-up a Form-to-Email system using Frontpage.

Q. Can I update my Web site as often as I like?

A. No problem. Make changes as often as you like. In fact we encourage this - the best Web sites are those that change often and keep fresh!

Q. Tell me about your technical support

A. Our technical support is via a standard rate UK phone number or email, you will never need to pay £1 or even 60p per minute to speak to support!

We answer to technical emails extremely efficiently, and you can expect some sort of reply usually within 3-4 hours (during office hours). Of course, we occasionally get a little busy but we guarantee to respond to all emails within 24 hours.
